Zelenskyy labels Russia “bloodthirsty filth” as Putin hits Ukraine: Following attacks in the Ukrainian province of Zaporizhzhia on Friday that resulted in at least 25 deaths and 50 injuries, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy referred to Russia as a “terrorist state” and “bloodthirsty filth.”

Zelenskyy’s response came after Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, decided to intensify the invasion he ordered in February despite suffering a significant setback on the battlefield this month and internal unrest over a heavily criticized partial military call-up of thousands more soldiers to fight in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said in a speech after the Russian bombardment in southern Zaporizhzhia, “Only complete terrorists could accomplish this.”

“sickening scum! You will undoubtedly respond. “For each Ukrainian life lost,” he added.

By proclamation, Putin had recognized the independence of two southern Ukrainian regions, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, earlier in the day. Donetsk and Lugansk are two of the four territories the Kremlin intends to seize. Russian forces presently control all four.

On Thursday, the four regions’ leaders, who had placed by Russia and begged Putin for annexation, assembled in the Russian capital. When the Russian military conquers portions of Ukraine, Putin will preside over a ceremony.

The attacks on Zaporizhzhia and the other three districts are worrying because if they are officially amalgamated into Russia, they would be under Moscow’s nuclear authority. Vladimir Putin has declared he’s not playing and is willing to use nuclear weapons.
