West Ham sealed a place in the last 16 of the Europa Conference League

West Ham defeated Silkeborg to keep their perfect record of victories in Europe this year, securing a spot in the round of 16 of the Europa Conference League.

The Hammers qualified with one game, thanks to Manuel Lanzini’s penalty following Nicolai Larsen’s mistake in bringing down Michail Antonio.

The semifinalist teams from the previous season’s Europa League dominated, with Spain’s Pablo Fornals and Algeria’s Said Benrahma coming close to increasing their advantage over the Danish guests.

Alphonse Areola, the West Ham goalkeeper, had to make a superb stop to deny Soren Tengstedt in the second half.

David Moyes’ team is in command of Group B with one round of games remaining and cannot be overtaken.

They have 15 points after five games, nine more than Silkeborg, in second position.

On November 3, West Ham will play their last group match away at FCSB in Romania, who are now last with two points (20:00 GMT). At the same time, third-placed Anderlecht, who have five points, are being hosted by Silkeborg.
