Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, the leading Democrat in Congress, will attend a discussion in Zagreb this week to support Ukraine’s independence and the restoration of the Crimean peninsula to Kyiv, her office stated on Sunday.
A statement from Pelosi’s office on Sunday said that the talks would be about how to help the Ukrainian people while holding Russia accountable for its proven war crimes and illegal annexations.
Pelosi, who traveled to the nation earlier this year, has steadfastly advocated for giving Ukraine money and military support since Russia invaded on February 24.

Pelosi will speak at the event, “where she will make a declaration of America’s unwavering support to Ukraine,” the release added.
Following Moscow’s annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula in Eastern Europe from Ukraine in 2014, the Crimea Platform summit, which will take place in the Croatian capital Zagreb, will hear from representatives of the Ukrainian government and outside experts about “the parameters of Crimea’s reintegration.”
