The Rock says he wants to be the next James Bond.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the biggest names in the world right now. His brand equity is nearly limitless and he brings enormous star power to any movie he stars in. The Rock is also a businessman and very scheming.
Daniel Craig made a name for himself by playing the role of James Bond in the long-running franchise that features the world’s most famous spy. Craig started his Bond journey with Royal Casino and ended with No time to die this year.
It was previously reported that Eon Productions, which has been responsible for producing the main branch of the 007 movie franchise, is in no rush to find a replacement for Daniel Craig.
While speaking with Esquire, The Rock revealed that he wants to be the next James Bond now that Daniel Craig has retired from the iconic role and not a villain on the series.
“Yes, my grandfather was a Bond villain in You only live twice with Sean Connery. “It was very, very cool. And I would like to follow in their footsteps and be the next Bond. I don’t want to be a villain. It has to be Bond.”
Craig also joked that Hugh Jackman replaced him as James Bond previously. We will have to wait and see if The Rock will ever compete to become the next James Bond or not.
