The connection between India and the US is improving: The Pentagon has said that the relationship between India and the United States is progressing well and that both nations primarily focus on enhancing military interoperability.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) website, defense collaboration has become a vital tenet of the India-US strategic alliance. As a result, more bilateral exercises currently carried out between the two nations than they do with any other country.
The total cost of US Defense’s acquisitions for the military has exceeded USD 13 billion.
Pentagon spokesman Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said Thursday, “It’s a collaboration we look forward to enhancing, and we’re particularly focus on interoperability.”
He replied with a query, “So, I believe it headed in the correct path.”
According to the MEA website, the US recognized India as a “Major Defense Partner” during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US in June 2016. This designation requires the US to facilitate industry collaboration for defense co-production and co-development as well as technology sharing with India at a level comparable to that of its closest allies and partners.
