Singapore reports 2,069 new COVID-19 cases and 18 more deaths.
A total of 1,501 cases were treated at the hospital, with 234 patients requiring oxygen supplementation in the general wards.
Fifty-four cases were unstable and under close surveillance in the intensive care unit (ICU), and 68 were critically ill and intubated. The overall utilization rate for the current ICU was 63.3%.
A total of 2,361 cases were discharged during the last day, of which 363 were people over 60 years of age.
“People aged 60 and over, especially if they are not vaccinated, continue to be more negatively affected by COVID-19,” the Health Ministry said.
Of the 86,443 cases in the last 28 days, 98.7 percent had mild symptoms or were asymptomatic, while 0.8 percent required oxygen supplementation in the general ward, 0.3 percent in the ICU and 0.2 percent died.
Vaccines
As of Monday, 94 percent of Singapore’s eligible population, those aged 12 and over, had either completed their full regimen or received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Among the total population, 85 percent have completed their full regimen or received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and about 86 percent have received at least one dose. About 21 percent have received their booster shots.
CLUSTERS
The Health Ministry said it is “closely monitoring” four large groups.
This includes a group at Jenaris Home @ Pelangi Village, which reported 25 new cases on Tuesday, bringing its total to 63 cases.
The group at Banyan Home @ Pelangi Village grew to 103 cases, comprising one staff member and 102 residents.
