President Putin wants visa-free travel with India

President Putin wants visa-free travel with India: During his Friday discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin argued in favor of a visa-free travel agreement between India and Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that India’s rich history and ancient culture are traditional of great interest to the Russian people during a bilateral meeting between Modi and Putin on the sidelines of the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in this Silk Road city in Uzbekistan.

In light of this, Putin cited by Russia’s official news agency TASS as stating, “We recommend speeding the course of discussions towards an agreement on visa-free tourist travel.”

Modi praised Putin for helping to evacuate hundreds of Indian students from Ukraine when Russian soldiers started a “special military operation” against the neighboring nation in February, noting that Moscow and New Delhi have had a long-standing relationship.
