Philadelphia drag queen dies onstage, cops and bar say: Police and the club reported that a drag queen from Philadelphia died after collapsing onstage while performing.
On Instagram, Valencia Prime referred to herself as “Philadelphia’s Plus Size Dancing Diva.” Unfortunately, she passed away on Monday night. According to Philadelphia Police Lt. Eric McLaurin, the lady collapsed in a pub close to the Midtown Village section of the city.
Owner of Tabu Lounge & Sports Bar Jeffrey Scotland told NBC News that Prime, 25, passed out on stage. USA TODAY was unable to get in touch with him for comment quickly.
According to McLaurin, the police were informed that a lady had fainted at the pub and that emergency services had taken her to a nearby hospital, where she was later declared dead.
According to McLaurin’s announcement on Friday, the Philadelphia Medical Examiner will do an autopsy to identify her cause of death.
The bar posted a statement on social media lamenting the death of “a very bright and rising star in the performing world and a person who was always full of love and joy.” “We bid Valencia Prime farewell, but we won’t soon forget the brightness you brought to the stage.”
In another post, Tabu announced that it would conduct a memorial concert on Monday in Prime’s honor, stating that Prime’s mother would be there.
