Officials say Princeton student Misrach Ewunetie discovered dead: According to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri, a Princeton University student from Ohio who went missing near campus about a week ago discover deceased on Thursday.
Onofri said that a staff member discovered 20-year-old Misrach Ewunetie outside tennis courts on the university facilities grounds at about 1 p.m.
There were no overt indications of damage. He said that the formal cause of death will establish after a medical examiner’s study, adding that “her death does not look suspicious or criminal in character.”
“The passing of Misrach is an unfathomable sorrow.” W. Rochelle Calhoun, university vice president, released a statement in which she expressed her condolences to the woman’s family, friends, and the many others who knew and loved her.
A thorough search was conducted after Ewunetie was reported missing. On Thursday, there was still many police on campus and in the surrounding neighborhoods.
On October 14, early in the morning, Ewunetie was last saw leaving for her dorm room at the Ivy League institution. Ewunetie was not in the dorm when her roommate arrived around 90 minutes later.
Ewunetie’s relatives and acquaintances said they had not heard from him. However, her brother, Universe Ewunetie, said during a Thursday appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” that his sister’s phone last rang after 3 a.m. on Friday in a housing complex that’s approximately a 30-minute walk from her dorm, which he claimed was unusual for her to be in such a place.
According to her LinkedIn page, Ewunetie was a junior in college and working toward a sociology degree. She also had a diploma in computer applications.
Before taking a full scholarship to Princeton, she graduated from Cleveland, Ohio’s Villa Angela-St. Joseph high school as valedictorian.
