Newcastle and Central Coast Mariners have agreed for the 18-year-old Australian striker to join the team in January.

“It seems unbelievable. The Premier League is the big event that everyone in Australia watches when they are young, but nobody genuinely believes they will achieve such heights, “said Kuol.

It’s great to be one of those individuals and be in my situation.

Last Friday, Kuol won his maiden Australia cap, becoming the youngest player since former Leeds and Liverpool midfielder Harry Kewell in 1996.

After four goals in seven substitute appearances for the Mariners, Kuol, who just signed his first professional contract in June, has emerged as a late addition to the Socceroos’ Qatar 2022 team.

In a brief appearance in a postseason friendly versus Barcelona, he also made an impression, getting praise from the opposing manager, Xavi.

Kuol said, “Now that I’ve joined Newcastle, I want to work in the gym and on the field, play hard, and maybe represent my country in the World Cup.

Dan Ashworth, the sports director of Newcastle United, said that Kuol would be given time to grow at Tyneside.

He said, “Garang is a talented young man.

Our guiding principle is to invest in both players who can contribute right away to the first team and in our academy’s next generation of exciting young players.

Kuol was born in Egypt and immigrated to the nation with his family as a South Sudanese refugee. In 2021, his older brother Alou switched from the Mariners to Stuttgart of Germany.
