For the Netherlands to go to the Nations League finals next summer, they must win their last match against second-placed Belgium.

After beating Wales 2-1 on Thursday to keep their dreams of winning the group alive, the Netherlands are still three points ahead of Belgium.

Van Gaal’s team overcame Belgium 4-1 in their June matchup and has won four of their five group games.

To continue competing in the Nations League’s top division, Wales must defeat Poland on Sunday in Cardiff.
