Meredith Marks Alleges Jen Shah Was Involved In Retail Theft Before Arrest.
Is she guilty of much more than being Shah-mazing?
On Sunday night’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” Meredith Marks told a story in the wake of Jen Shah’s arrest, claiming that the latter “Housewife” was allegedly involved in a retail theft case. : before being handcuffed by the feds in March for alleged fraud and money laundering.
“By the end of September [2020], I was with my whole family. We were all in New York. And I have about eight missed calls from Jen, ”the 49-year-old accessory designer told Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, Mary Cosby, Jennie Nguyen, and Whitney Rose during a cast dinner in Vail, Colorado.
Marks went on to say that Shah, 47, told him he was trying to get into his Park City, Utah store, but couldn’t because it was closed when he arrived.
“I was at dinner and I called her and she said, ‘Oh, we’re good. I was trying to get into your store. It was closed. I was banging on the door, but his manager opened it for me again. Excellent. So, she left. My manager called me and I was like, ‘Oh great, what did you buy?’ ”.
According to Marks, his manager said Shah spent “a few hundred dollars” but noticed a snakeskin clutch was missing after the embattled Bravo star and his associates left.
“[My manager told me], ‘There’s a green clutch that I know was here. His friends were holding him and he’s gone, ”Marks said. “So, I said to my manager, ‘Text him and just say,’ Did you borrow it? ”
He continued: “And in 30 seconds, my manager’s phone is ringing and on the other end is [redacted] and [redacted] He says, ‘I’ll get the bag tomorrow.’
In addition, Marks obtained video footage of the alleged incident, which aired on the latest installment of “RHOSLC.”
“Jen didn’t come out with a bag,” Marks said in a confessional. “But what really didn’t sit well with me is that he kept someone he knew did get something out of my shop at your job. That’s not my friend. ”
As viewers will recall, Marks and Shah fell out earlier this season over the homophobic language Shah used against Marks’ son Brooks on social media. Although the couple had briefly fixed things, Marks admitted she was “not surprised” by Shah’s legal miseries that began to play out on the November 7 episode of “Salt Lake City.”
Shah and assistant Stuart Smith were arrested for allegedly defrauding hundreds of victims in a widespread telemarketing scam targeting seniors. The two pleaded not guilty to the charges in April. Shah’s trial is scheduled for March 2022.
During Shah’s free group scene, Marks also claimed that he heard that his on-screen adversary is “flagged red” in Louis Vuitton’s retail system because he allegedly pays cash when shopping there.
“I don’t know if it is true or false. It’s gossip, ”Marks clarified. “I have no idea.”
In a confessional, Barlow, 46, couldn’t help but joke: “Having a red flag at Louis Vuitton would be so much worse than the feds knocking on my door.”
“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on Bravo.
