First of all, you must unlock the Convoy feature in your online menu, and to do so, you must have completed the introductory races and missions of the game. They should first make sure you know how to drive before hitting the road with your friends.
Once you’ve unlocked the Convoy option, you or your friend can host a session and compete together.
How to join a friend’s session in Forza Horizon 5?
- Open the pause menu and switch to the Online tab
- Select “Convoy“, then “Manage convoy“
- Choose the friend you want to play with to send them an invitation.
- When they accept the invitation, they will join your convoy and your game session.
You should know that the ‘friend system’ in Forza Horizon 5 is based on invitations. You can’t just go to a friend’s session, they must first send you an invitation that you must accept.

However, doing it is very easy. All they have to do is open the pause menu, switch to the Online tab, and click on Convoy and Manage Convoy.
A list of players who have been personally invited to the session will appear. From here, they can select a friend (that is, you) and send them an invitation to join the convoy.
