Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, a multiple world champion from France, has signed with Ineos Grenadiers for 2023.

The 30-year-old is the team’s first female rider as they expand beyond their origins in road cycling.

Ferrand-Prevot has won eight world championships in mountain biking and medals in the road, cyclocross, and gravel racing.

She said, “Joining the Ineos Grenadiers is a dream for me.

“Paris hosting the Olympics in 2024 is a major deal. Over the next two years, my major objective will be to improve as a rider in front of a home audience.”

In addition to winning the first Gravel World Championships last weekend, Ferrand-Prevot won the road world championship in 2014 and the cyclocross world championship in 2015.

She uttered: “The only medal on my palmares that is lacking is an Olympic gold medal, thus it is the one I want most. It was a major motivator for me to join the Ineos Grenadiers on this expedition.”

Since entering the road cycling World Tour in 2010 as Squad Sky, Ineos’ men’s team has seen tremendous success, including seven Tour de France victories.

Men’s and women’s squads are available for the World Tour teams Trek-Segafredo and Jumbo-Visma.

Tom Pidcock of Ineos won the mountain bike gold medal for Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympics last year.

On Saturday, Italian time trial expert Filippo Ganna of Ineos smashed the cycling hour record with a distance of 56.792km.
