India works to undermine China’s plan to block Aukus: According to reports, China attempted to introduce a resolution against Aukus at the IAEA general conference, saying that this plan violated the US, UK, and Australia’s obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Beijing also criticized the IAEA’s participation in this context, seeing Aukus and Quad as US-led containment operations.
India adopted an “objective perspective” of the proposal and acknowledged the validity of the IAEA’s technical assessment.
According to a source, “The Indian delegation to the IAEA in Vienna cooperated closely with numerous member governments in this area.”
China withdrew its resolution on September 30 after realizing it would not get support from the majority. However, IAEA member nations praised India’s contribution, according to sources.
