Many players crying out for several errors since Early Access began. Servers crash in every way, leading to all sorts of connection issues, including this one.
Fortunately, developers are already looking for a solution, but is there anything you can do on your part? Let’s find out.

To fix Battlefield 2042 error 2002g: persistence cannot be loaded, all you can do is exit the game, exit Origin, and then restart both.
Try to get into a match. While you’re at it, be sure to play the game directly through Origin. Also, there is no guarantee this will work.

But it is worth a try as the only official “solution” so far is “for now, you can press Retry and try to join a server”.
On the bright side, the developers are at least aware of the issue and are working on it, as you can see in the tweet below.
We're aware that many of you are receiving an error message while attempting to load into a Server, and then being returned to the Main Menu

Another possible solution for Battlefield 2042 Cannot load persistence error 2002g is to disable cross-play.
Again, it might not work, but it’s worth giving it a spin as the alternative is to just sit back and stare at a loading screen/error screen.
Also, turning the console off and on to clear the cache seems to have helped some people.
All that being said, realistically speaking, the only real solution may come from developers implementing a patch. Try to be patient until then.
