The Czech Republic was demoted from the top division of the Nations League after losing on the road at Switzerland.

With goals from Remo Freuler and Breel Embolo, Switzerland had a 2-0 lead and needed a draw to continue in League A.

Vladimir Coufal of West Ham struck the post, but the Czechs fought bravely, and Patrik Schick drew one back.

Tomas Soucek of West Ham had a penalty saved by Yann Sommer of Switzerland, while Jan Kuchta of the visitors also came close to scoring.

With the victory, Switzerland moved up to third place in Group A2, behind only Spain, who won the group and qualified for the four-nation finals competition in June after a thrilling 1-0 away victory against Portugal.

In 2024–2025, the Czech Republic will join Wales, England, and Austria in League B.
