Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to group training after manager Erik ten Hag ordered him to practice alone last week.

Ronaldo, 37, was benched for Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea after declining to enter as a substitute against Tottenham last Wednesday.

Later, Ten Hag said that his acts had “consequences.”

It is believed that Ten Hag and Ronaldo have been in touch over the last several days.

After leaving Old Trafford early from the bench and making his way down the tunnel in the 89th minute of United’s 2-0 victory against Spurs, Ronaldo attributed his early departure to the “heat of the moment.”

The Portuguese’s participation in practice implies that he might play in Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova on Thursday at home in Group E of the Europa League.

Following recent injury issues, midfielder Donny van de Beek and defender Harry Maguire also practiced on Tuesday.
