Chris Daughtry ‘devastated’ by stepdaughter’s death when police tell family it was a homicide: report.
Chris Daughtry is “absolutely devastated and heartbroken” over the death of his stepdaughter, the singer said Saturday, as detectives told the family that the 25-year-old was a victim of homicide.
Sources close to Daughtry’s family told OkeyNews Saturday of the sinister development in the case the day after Hannah Price was discovered dead in her Tennessee home.
“I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken, ”Daughtry said. in your statement posted on Facebook.
“Recently, in the last week, I lost my mother to cancer, but I was fortunate to have the opportunity to say goodbye and I was processing it in private.
“We were never able to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it is another great success for our family,” said the 41-year-old singer.
Hannah’s boyfriend, Bobby Jolly, was arrested Friday at the Fentress County Jail, OkeyNews reported, though it was not immediately clear if her bust was related to the alleged homicide.
A Fentress County Sheriff’s Deputy told The Post Saturday that Jolly is being held at the jail there pending transfer to the Putnam County Jail.
The deputy sheriff did not dispute the charges, nor did an officer who answered the phone at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department.
Daughtry, who rose to fame as a finalist for “American Idol” in 2006, postponed his tour following the death of his stepdaughter.
Hannah and her 23-year-old brother Griffin are the children of Chris’s wife, Deanna Daughtry, from a previous relationship.
Chris and Deanna, 48, who met in 2000, have two 10-year-old twins, Adalynn Rose and Noah James.
Hannah’s mother said in an Instagram post-Saturday that her daughter was injured before she died.
