Arsenal defeated Liverpool at Emirates Stadium thanks to Bukayo Saka’s penalty, which ended an exciting game and restored Arsenal’s lead over the league standings.
Gabriel Martinelli gave Arsenal the lead after 58 seconds, giving them the ideal start. However, Liverpool returned strongly, and after 34 minutes, striker Darwin Nunez rightfully equalized the score by sliding in Luis Diaz’s cross.

After Martinelli went free on a counterattack in the first half’s extra time, Saka gave Arsenal the lead. Still, eight minutes later, Roberto Firmino, who had been brought in to replace the injured David Diaz, scored to pull Liverpool even more.
With 14 minutes left, Thiago Alcantara was given a penalty for a tackle on Gabriel Jesus.
Saka calmly converted the conversion to give Liverpool a sentence they thought they were wrongfully denied when defender Gabriel handled in the first half.
