Arsenal Midfielder Emile Smith Rowe sidelined after groin surgery

Arsenal player Emile Smith Rowe has had groin surgery and is expected to return to training in December.

This season, the 22-year-old has played four short minutes as a substitute.

The latest of them was a loss against Manchester United, which was “a big setback” for him.

According to Arsenal, Emile Smith Rowe has been having groin pain lately, which has hindered his ability to practice and play in games.

“Emile had surgery to repair a torn tendon in his groin after a severe setback during our Premier League encounter against Manchester United at Old Trafford on September 4, as well as following further professional consultations and conversations with our medical staff.

“Recent successful surgery was performed in London, and Emile’s recovery program is well in motion.

“We anticipate Emile returning to training in full in December.”
